A young girl, Xiaoyun, 14 yrs old and adopted this past April (days before she was to age out), has done a video appealing to people to help the orphans. Her mom was working on a web page about orphan care for church, when she came and sat down beside her and wanted to know what she was doing. When the mom explained it, she said she wanted to tell people that they need to help the orphans. Their music minister came to the house, sat the video camera in front of her, and, without any prompting on what she should say, she started talking.
Xiaoyun has severe congenital scoliosis. The surgeons said her lungs are so impaired that eventually she would have gone into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, she is able to have a series of 4 surgeries within a 6-8 week timeframe (beginning in January) that will allow her to live a long life.
