NVC and Article 5

It came today! The National Visa Center emailed us at 7:30 this morning with a copy of the "Letter" that was "cabled" to the US Consulate in Guangzhou yesterday. This is yet another step in the process for the US government to approve our adoption and for Alice to be approved as an adoptee eligible for a visa and citizenship upon completion of the adoption in China and a final medical review.

It's a strange process, but what happens next is that we email the "letter" to our adoption agency, who email it to their representative in Guangzhou, who then delivers it with some other papers to the US Consulate. Two weeks later the agency representative will return to the consulate to pick up the Article 5 letter informing the China adoption authority that all Hague requirements have been satisfied and everything is in order for the adoption to be completed. The agency rep then sends it to the China adoption authority who will then issue travel authorization (TA) about 2-4 weeks later.

YEA!!!! We are getting closer!!!
