My apologizes for the lack of updates. Life has been busy and somewhat challenging. We've had some unanticipated issues come to light and expect it will be 2 or 3 months before we have solid answers. At this point I'll just say that we expect Lucy's first 6 months to be a bit more work than Alice's. In hindsight we now see that Alice's transition was about as easy as you can ask for with an older child international adoption. In the meantime, Lucy has been attending school full time since her second day. All reports so far indicate that she is adapting well and making friends.
We are mostly ready for Christmas. There is still some cleaning to finish (is it ever really done?) and cookies to bake. I'm holding off on the cookies until there are more people in the house to help eat them and to send some home with, otherwise I'll be wearing too many of them on my hips!
Wishing a blessed and merry Christmas to each of you. May the time with your families be joyous and may we all remember those who have lost family members, young and old, this year.
