No Answers - Still Waiting

The audiologist tested Lucy yesterday and …

She wants to test her a second time before making a diagnosis.

The next available appointment …

March 13! - another 2 weeks of waiting!

March 15 we will have Lucy's second IEP meeting to discuss what we don't know since most of the assessments can't be done until we get the audiologist's report. (Initial indications are that her results were better than found in the school screening, but still marginal in some areas.)

Fortunately the teachers and special educators at the middle school are child-focused and not process- or paperwork-focused and are giving Lucy almost all the services she will likely have spelled out in her IEP - once we can complete it.

Still no word about the MRI results. I'm having a terrible time getting any response from them. This has been very atypical of the care we've received from Kennedy Krieger up to this point.

In other news - I signed papers this week waiving the girls' ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) services. For the amount of service they were getting and what they were gaining from it compared to what they were missing being pulled from their other classes, we felt that it just wasn't worth continuing right now. Because the girls receive services and accommodations through their IEPs, we really aren't giving up anything that isn't covered there.
