Article 5 Finished!

The final piece of paper that says we have satisfied all the requirements for an international adoption from China to the US under the Hague Convention was picked up today in Guangzhou by a representative of our adoption agency and forwarded to the Chinese government agency in Beijing that handles adoptions.

Now we wait for them to issue us travel approval (TA). Our agency says that could take 1-4 weeks, but currently most TAs are coming back in 1-2 weeks. That's good for us because 2 weeks from today is the last working day before the big Chinese New Year holiday when everything shuts down for most of the following week. Ideally we need to have TA in less than 2 weeks so we can schedule our consulate appointment (CA) before the holiday. We need to have our CA to begin making travel plans. Getting it before the holiday gives us a little more time to prepare for the trip, arrange flights, etc. The entire trip is planned around the CA date and we can't make any reservations until we have it.

It's getting close!
