Today is another day where I am very distracted thinking about our LOA. The current average of 68 days would be the day before Thanksgiving for us. Definitely something to be thankful for, but then we have at least 5 days of no progress to sit through.
The next step in the process is in the US, so we lose 2 days for the holiday, plus the weekend, plus we have to send a copy of the letter to our agency who will then submit everything for immigration approval. Some people submit their papers themselves, saving at least one day. While I appreciate the extra thoroughness our agency gives to making sure all the paperwork is completed correctly (mistakes cause delays!), it's hard waiting even that extra day for papers to travel coast to coast.
I recalculated possible travel dates factoring in delays for Christmas, New Year's and Chinese New Year when government agencies are closed and my best guess now is that we will meet Alice around mid-March, almost 4 whole months from now. Looks like we may not need to worry about packing many winter clothes.
