Last night was National Night Out, a program to promote police-community partnerships. Our older daughter's employer was a sponsor for a local event. Because of her martial arts connection, they asked her to invite Jing Ying to participate. Molly thought Alice would enjoy the event and also being in the demonstration group. She was right.
Alice was the lowest level belt to participate. Most of the other students were red belt (2nd highest), plus a few black belts, and one other intermediate belt. Alice was not the youngest, as there is one 8 or 9 year old at the red belt level. I sometimes wonder if that boy has rubber for bones! He is extremely flexible.

Alice really likes her sister's friends and they go out of their way to encourage and instruct her at Jing Ying. It's a fantastic arrangement for her. |

| The 3 of them all wanted to demo the same weapon, but knew the audience wouldn't enjoy seeing the same thing 3 times. In one day they came up with some modifications to turn it into a group demo. |
